This is the first song that I officially record and release as a solo artist. I played with The Absynths for about 13 years and after separating with them in 2018, I took a long time to think and reflect about where I wanted to go and what I wanted to be. It wasn't easy but after a while I felt a pull to come back to music.

I spent the next few years working on the guitar and coming up with a few compositions. After buying some recording equipment, it took me another while longer to feel comfortable to record and share my music.

I guess all good things do come to those who wait. I also realized sometimes things just happen for a reason. I made a few mistakes when I was with the band but I genuinely enjoyed my time with it and aim to learn from it.

This song in particular is a play on the word "Tonali" which has a few meanings in Nahuatl but in the context of this song symbolizes life, nature, and mother earth. I wanted to share my appreciation for its beauty while also shining a light on its delicateness. We are using up a lot of its resources and I wonder how much longer will we be able to survive as a planet and a species? Can we help save mother earth and nature or are we destined to fail? The true believer and idealist in me believes that life will find a way and go on. The universe itself is a breathing entity and I would like to imagine that its energy is carried throughout the cosmos.

I also need to give a shout out to my friend, Martin Lugo who throughout my musical slump was incredibly encouraging and inspired me to just go for it and do it! Challenge accepted mate.
