This song is one of the first pieces I composed as a solo artist following my time with The Absynths. It took me a while to feel comfortable with it, but once I did, it became one of my favorite songs to play.

There is something very calming about finger picking. (I recorded this version of the song with a pick, but it still carries the same essence.) The simple guitar solo also is very quietly reassuring to me, almost like it's saying it's okay to keep things simple.

Having said that, this was one of the most difficult songs for me to record. I kept trying out different variations and effects yet every time I tried and went back to it, it didn't sound right. I wanted it to sound perfect.

After a while, I started to allow myself to let loose and record all my songs with their little quirks and all. I recorded this version of the song during December 2021 and told myself its okay to just take it as it is and let it go.

Its kind of funny considering the song title translates to "Dreaming of Peace." I like to let things happen and enjoy the looseness of things and yet when it comes to certain things, I want it to be special and be perfect. But learning to accept that not everything is perfect has made it a little easier not just with music but with life.

I still dream of a time when we can all be free and at peace with one another. To accept our differences and yet respect one another. To be at peace with ourselves and the world around us.

Until then, all I can do is try to encourage a bit of empathy and understanding, and be the best that I can be too.
