Isis is named after the Egyptian goddess who was symbol of healing and motherly affection.

Isis is one of the first songs I ever wrote. You can hear a variation of it with my previous band, The Absynths, under a different name called "Nostalgia" on the album "Snow at the End of the Rainbow."

On this specific recording, I used the Slö effect pedal by Walrus. I love how it adds a great amount of depth and atmosphere. Perfect when revisiting this song.

My parents separated when I was younger and I ended up growing up with my dad and my sister. I still love and talk with Mom, but when I think about it, I do feel like there was something missing when I was growing up.

This song kind of captures that. There is a great sense of longing and looking for peace. Something I didn't notice when I was writing it but can see now after reflecting on it. It's like a memory that I can barely remember, and it pulls me, almost literally, at my heart strings.

It's filled with a lot of Sadness, but despite the melancholy feeling, It's filled with a lot of warmth too.

I hope this song can fill you with a sense of love, warmth, and affection, as you sit back and enjoy the waves.
